Submissions for the 2024 Babble Royale competition are now open!
Sir Mark Walport, the UK Chief scientist, said, “Science is not finished until it’s communicated.” Unfortunately, it still takes an average of 17 years for research findings to impact clinical practice. This number is approximately the entire duration of childhood. This may be partially due to the lack of communication training received in the course of medical training. The conventional format of platform or abstract presentations at medical conferences often fails to engage the audience or use multimedia presentations ineffectively.
Our goals are:
- Foster and promote speakers from our section who demonstrate best practices in scientific communication.
- Demonstrate and encourage best practices in scientific communication for furthering knowledge dissemination and knowledge translation in pediatric emergency medicine.
